Synopsis

 Southern Dys-Comfort is a 2012 dark comedy film by director Patrick Ryan McEveety from a screenplay by Michael Alton Lowder. The story centers on the relationship between a wealthy Southern socialite played by Michael Alton Lowder, who is raised by an African American nanny, “Annie Mae” played by Lynne Newton.

  The rich are different but not always in a good way. Set amongst a tapestry of fairy tale excess, Michael Lowder plays a bi-sexual male who is surrounded by his dysfunctional upscale friends and family.  Annie Mae is his mentor and confidant who helps Michael navigate through the extensive personal matters which continually present him with complications.

 Michael juggles lovers, Lynn Alana Delaney (Kelly) The conniving 1^st wife, Monika Casey (Dorian) The gold digging 2^nd wife, Dwight Turner (Marc) The easy going 1st gay lover and Carl Ingemarsson (Robin) The manipulating drug addicted 2^nd gay lover all the while haunted by the memory of his deceased girlfriend who happens to be Annie Mae’s niece and the mother of one of his deceased children Gardenia (Tamara Goodwin). Matters are greatly complicated when Kennedy Gamble (Mike Breyer) the butler and Michael’s half brother meddles with the family.  Each is subjected to the scrutiny of Michael’s pack of wealthy “Southern Belles “who provide comic relief with catty comments all delivered with a Tiara and a smile of course.  With an obvious struggle to hold on to their youth, the Belle's rule their town with southern-style. They do not fail to impress, each with their unique sense of style which adds to the overall ambiance of the film.
